Did you know that reading to your child is one of the most powerful ways to boost his or her brain power?   The simple and enjoyable act of sharing books helps your child learn pre-reading skills such as understanding the sounds letters make, develop a bigger vocabulary, and building background knowledge – all important skills that help prepare your child for learning to read and entering kindergarten.

Book Review of Stephen Cosgrove's Serendipity Books by Mary Louise Hunt

I was first introduced to the books of Stephen Cosgrove by a friend (Linda Wiltse) who loved rabbits.  The series was first published in 1988 and it became of favorite family read aloud.  Not only was I impressed with the storyline and the “moral of the story”, but I found the illustrations to be intriguing and charming.  There are so many fascinating characters in his stories and lessons to be learned and taught.  I was hooked on this author and of course I took the love of these books to my third grad
